I had a difficult first weekend of the 2017 National Formula Ford 1600 Championship at Brands Hatch. In what is the most competitive championship since formula ford 1600's hayday. I had my work cut out struggling with the engine, but I managed to qualify 5th and had a difficult first couple of races. I finished the first race in a disappointing 7th place and then progressed to a slightly better 6th place in the the second race of the weekend. The third race of the weekend was the reverse grid race, where I started 3rd. It was extremely eventful and after a number of incidents over the first few laps, I found myself leading the way. I was under a lot of pressure at the end of the race, but managed to hold it together and come away with the win! It's a great way to start the year and hopefully we can build on this for the remainder of the year! |
